Human Oral cavity Microbe: General study

Humans have various types of microbe habitats in which it has a separate module on the oral cavity. This includes the teeth, gingival sulcus, tongue, cheeks, hard and soft palates, and tonsils in which the bacteria are colonized. There are almost 600 taxa species levels which form the subset of predominating at various habitats whereas the oral cavity of the newborn babies does not contain any bacteria and slowly colonize with streptococcus.

These have been extensively characterized by cultivation and culture-independent such as rRNA. Generally, bacteria accumulate on both the hard and soft oral issues in biofilms. Among this anaerobic bacteria include actinomyces, Bifidobacterium, Eubacterium, Lactobacillus, lepidotrichia, Pepto coccus are present.

Generally, the condition in human mouth allows the growth of characteristic microorganism as this will provide water, nutrients and moderate temperature for the growth of bacteria. Sometimes the microbes that are present in the mouth adhere to teeth may resist the mechanical flushing from the mouth to the stomach where they are destroyed by hydrochloric acid.

Here are some of the microbes that cause infection in the oral cavity

Fusospirochetes: Spiro and fusiform bacilli live in floral form, cause infection in the case of oral bleeding
Veillonella: A gram-negative cocci which convert the acidic products of other species to less acidic.
Lactobacillus: Some of these are associated with the dental cavities.
Dental Plaque:  This forms the biofilm on the surface of the teeth as this forms an accumulation of microorganism and results in the dental diseases.
Bacteria associated with oral flora have been found to be present in the women with bacterial vaginosis.

Apart from bacteria, there are some fungi found in the mouth include candida, Cladosporium, Aspergillus, Fusarium, and Cryptococcus.
